How This Tool Works
Converting a decimal to a percentage is fundamentally about scaling. A percentage simply means 'out of one hundred.' Since decimals already represent parts out of one (1), you must multiply the decimal value by 100 to express it as an equivalent fraction out of 100.
For example, if your calculator shows a decimal input of 0.75, the tool performs the calculation: 0.75 * 100 = 75. The result, 75%, indicates that three quarters, or 75 parts out of every 100, are represented by that value.
The calculator handles this multiplication instantly and accurately, providing both the numerical percentage (e.g., 75) and the symbol (%) for clear understanding. Simply input your decimal figure, and watch the conversion happen!
