How This Tool Works
Understanding fuel economy units can be confusing, which is why this converter exists. The process involves translating two fundamentally different ways of measuring fuel use.
L/100km (Liters per 100 kilometers) measures consumption: how many liters you burn to travel a set distance. A lower number is better. Conversely, km/L (kilometers per liter) measures efficiency: how far you can travel using one liter of fuel. A higher number is better.
The converter uses a direct mathematical relationship to instantly flip these units. Essentially, it calculates the inverse ratio. For example, if your vehicle consumes 7 L/100km, our tool determines that this equals approximately 14.28 km/L (since 100 / 7 ≈ 14.28). This ensures you get a consistent metric regardless of which unit system you are accustomed to.
