This converter translates network speed in megabits per second (Mbps) into file transfer speed in megabytes per second (MB/s). Because one byte equals eight bits, the forward conversion divides Mbps by 8.

The formula is: MB/s = Mbps ÷ 8. For example, 100 Mbps equals 12.5 MB/s before accounting for real-world overhead such as Wi-Fi signal quality, protocol overhead, server limits, or storage speed.
