How This Tool Works
This calculator converts tire RPM into vehicle speed by finding the tire circumference and multiplying that distance by rotations per minute. You can enter a standard metric tire size, such as 225/45R17, or switch to Direct Diameter when you already know the overall tire diameter in inches.
For metric tire sizes, the tool calculates sidewall height from width and aspect ratio, adds the rim diameter, then uses speed = RPM × circumference. Results are shown in mph, km/h, and m/s, with tire diameter, circumference, and revolutions per mile for quick calibration checks.
